Through the Site Administrator interface (Control Panel) you can:

• Set up your site's security and view your site's traffic reports
• Manage your site's user accounts and back up/restore your site's data
• Set up your site's email services (if enabled for your site)

Your control panel is accessed through a secure socket connection to the server -- this means that all the information going back and forth between you and your website control panel are encrypted so that people cannot eavesdrop on things like passwords or other personal information. When you first click on the link to get to your panel, you will be presented with an alert from your web browser telling you that you you are trying to connect to a secure server you've never dealt with before:

Accept the certificate and you will then be able to log into your control panel. If you want to accept the certificate from now on, you won't be presented with this popup each time you log into your control panel.

IMPORTANT! If this is a newly registered domain name and your DNS changes haven't propagated yet, you will not be able to access your control panel in the normal way. If your DNS is not completely propagated you can get to your control panel by clicking here

Your Webmail Access

If you have an email account on this domain you can access your email from anywhere in the world simply by logging into this domain's webmail server. (You can also set up your Outlook or equivalent email reader to collect your email messages from this server just like you would any other POP3 email account.) About Web sites

Web sites are servers connected to the Internet. On Web sites, you can publish Web pages in a format called HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language). Anyone with a computer connected to the Internet can view Web pages using programs called a browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or AOL/Netscape Navigator. You can also use Web sites to send and receive email over the Internet.

Creating and publishing Web pages

The easiest way to create a Web page is to use a Web authoring-tool, also called an HTML-authoring tool. Some of the more common authoring tools are FrontPage, which is available for purchase from Microsoft, Dreamweaver, which is available for purchase from Macromedia, or by making use of one of the many Content Management Systems that are available.

Tools like FrontPage and Dreamweaver write the HTML code for you as you compose your page. Using them is similar to using a word processor such as Microsoft Word.   A Content Management System allows you to update the content of your site and upload things like images and articles without having to write any HTML.

As an alternative, you can create Web pages by writing the HTML code yourself in a text editor program such as Notepad. Pointers to learning HTML include
